world that came from the arab spring. and the u.s. is in this position where they are standing by israel, very clearly they have said that they support israel's right to defend itself. hillary clinton has met with the palestinian leader weather the egyptian president, with the israeli prime minister but not with hamas. that's going to continue to reverberate in the way that the president has dealings with the arab world going forward from this, and that's what they're looking at as they look forward to the next four years. >> the question, can she get this deal done or push it along. >> and she's dealing with a very different set of players. the playing field has changed dramatically. you have an egypt, tunisia that are no longer in the same position vis-a-vis israel. th then you have turkey, too. that's another sort of wild card where the relationship between israel and turkey deteriorated so much from 2010 to today that, you know, the u.s. really is in a position where they really can't take too many steps back from israel because it's more isolated now than it was even two years ago.

. >>> autism is estimated to affect 1 out of every 88 children born in the u.s. and now a new study says that having the fever or a flu for a week during pregnancy could at least double the chances of a child being born with autism. abc's dr. richard besser is here with us to break down the new research. dr. besser, this is a frightening headline for so many parents or would-be parents. break it down for us. >> so here's what they found. if a mother reported having flu during pregnancy, her risk of having a child with autism increased from 1% to 2%. if she reported having fever for seven days, the risk went from 1% to 3%. so while it's doubling or tripling, it's still very small. there are a number of questions about the study itself. it's called an exploratory study so it's designed to look for other things to study in more detail. they enrolled over 100,000 moms in this study in denmark. they asked them over 100 questions. they never tested them for flu. so in future studies, they're going to look to see, does this really hold up. >> in the meantime, what should a woman do if she's pre

petraeus' biographer about the deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya. let's take a listen. >> i don't know if a lot of you heard this, but the cia an annex had taken a couple prisoner and they think the attack on the consulate was an attempt to get the prisoners back. that's still being vetted. >> where did she hear that? did it come from david petraeus and do we know if her claim was true, the cia was holding captives inside a consular annex in benghazi? >> right, ted. this raises serious issues. she clearly said in the video the information she was sharing on libya and the cia holding prisoners there hadn't been vetted. so that means she is sharing something with -- that she heard with a public audience. that's concerning because they have to ask, what is your source? is the source of all of her information david petraeus? given her extraordinary access to the former director of the cia, it would have been a reasonable assumption. but, again, her access to him was not in any way in an official capacity. though she did tell me she was working with the general on writing a
